LIBERIA DECIDES: George Weah to succeed Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as the Liberia's President

The former AC Milan, Manchester City and Chelsea striker George Weah has been elected the President of Liberia. He is the First African to win the Ballon D'or and FIFA world player of th year titles consecutively. He emerged victorious over his opponent Joseph Baokai who was the Vice president of the country for 12 years. 

"It is with deep emotion that I want to thank you, the Liberian people, for honouring  me with your vote today. It is a great hope" -Weah wrote on Twitter.

He will take over from the Nobel Prize winner Ellen Sirleaf who beat him in an election back in 2005.
